Introducing A Taste Of Everything, a small, locally owned soul food spot tucked into downtown Suffolk at 217 E Washington St, this restaurant feels like the kind of place the community naturally gathers around. From the moment you step inside, there’s an easy warmth created by genuinely welcoming customer service, the kind where staff remember faces and names and make newcomers feel instantly comfortable. Even when the dining room is busy, the food comes out quickly without feeling rushed, which makes it a reliable stop whether you’re grabbing lunch during a busy day or picking up dinner to avoid cooking at home. The menu leans confidently into classic soul food favorites, offering hearty, well-seasoned dishes like turkey wings, pork chop sandwiches, meatloaf, fried cabbage, yams, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and other comforting sides that feel homemade rather than mass-produced. Portions are satisfying, flavors are rich, and everything tastes like it was prepared with care rather than shortcuts. Beyond traditional soul food, the kitchen also branches out with options like chicken and shrimp Alfredo served with garlic bread and a side salad, showing range while still staying true to its comfort-food roots. Daily specials keep things interesting for regulars, while the dessert selection gives plenty of reason to save room at the end of the meal. One standout that tends to get people talking is the banana pudding cake, known for being generously sized, moist, and indulgent enough to turn first-time visitors into repeat customers. Whether discovered while exploring Suffolk, stopping by for a local event, or simply searching for a dependable lunch spot, A Taste Of Everything delivers food that feels familiar, filling, and deeply rooted in Southern tradition, all wrapped in a friendly neighborhood atmosphere that makes returning feel natural rather than planned.

Just when I was trying to unbig my back...this place came up on tiktok. I'm mad about it because I will be a regular and remain fat. When I went in, there were quite a few people there, but the dinners came out fast. Food is delicious! The young lady at the counter is definitely an asset because she is so sweet! She knew a few people by name. Turkey wings, mac n cheese, yams, potato salad, fried cabbage, and banana pudding cake. I am so glad Suffolk has real Soul food. No need to cook on Sunday. Love it! P.S. The banana pudding cake is so good it should be a sin.

Small local owned shop in Suffolk. We were visiting for the pickle festival and got hungry and this was the spot. The food was good, I had the pork chop sandwich with the fried cabbage and my husband got the meatloaf, yams and mac and cheese. For soul food it was delicious. Will recommended and will be back. Thank you .

I came across A Taste of Everything during a quick Google search for lunch. They have pleasant customer service and were welcoming. I ordered the chicken and shrimp Alfredo that came with a side salad(the portion was a bit smaller than what I'm used to for a side salad-but it did its job) and garlic bread. I also added a slice of banana pudding cake which was huge, moist and delicious. They also have daily specials along with regular menu items and an assortment of desserts. Overall, a great restaurant worth trying. Will return!

Yesterday my sister took me to this restaurant for my birthday. From the moment I walked through the door, I knew this place was special. The customer service here is truly top tier—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming in a way you don’t find often anymore. Every staff member I interacted with made me feel valued and taken care of, like I was a guest in their home instead of just a customer. And the food? Absolutely phenomenal. This is soul food done right—rich, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and made with obvious love. Every dish tasted like it came straight from someone’s family kitchen. The mac and cheese was creamy and unforgettable, the fried cabbage were seasoned to perfection, and the fried catfish had that perfect crisp you dream about. Even the baked chicken was next-level. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the entire experience feels like comfort in meal form. It’s rare to find a restaurant that hits every mark: great food, exceptional service, and a memorable vibe—but this one does it effortlessly. If you want a soul food spot that treats you like family and feeds your spirit as much as your stomach, this is the place. I’ll definitely be back today when they open. The food was so delicious that I forgot to take pictures. I will take pictures today.
